Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 July 2026
Plush Pillows (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you use our website and order custom-shaped pillows (the “Services”). By using the Services, you acknowledge this policy. For related rules, see our Terms & conditions.
Our Services are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under the age of majority where that higher age applies). If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
1. Who is responsible
Plush Pillows is the business responsible for personal information collected through this website and your orders. We sell directly to customers. We use print-on-demand and other service providers to fulfil orders; when they process data for us, they do so under our instructions.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:
- Contact & shipping details: name, email, phone (if provided), shipping address.
- Order & commercial information: product choices, size, order history, and preferences.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers. We may receive limited details such as payment status and last digits.
- Artwork & content: images and other files you upload for printing, plus messages you send us (including reviews or support requests).
- Device & usage data: IP address, browser/device type, pages visited, referring URL, and similar technical data (including via cookies or similar tools where used).
- Approximate location: inferred from IP address for security, fraud prevention, or regional display (such as currency).
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as health, biometric, or religious data) as part of normal checkout.
3. How we collect it
- Directly from you: when you place an order, upload artwork, contact us, leave a review, or sign up for updates.
- Automatically: when you browse the site (device/usage data, cookies where enabled).
- From service providers: for example payment confirmation from Stripe, or shipping updates from logistics partners.
4. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- process, print, and ship your order (contract / to provide the Services);
- send order confirmations and delivery updates;
- provide customer support and respond to enquiries;
- detect fraud, secure the site, and enforce our Terms;
- improve the website, products, and shopping experience;
- send marketing emails only where you have opted in or where allowed for existing customers. You can unsubscribe at any time;
- comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the business, including with:
- Payment processors (e.g. Stripe) to take payment and prevent fraud;
- Print Partners and logistics providers to manufacture and deliver your pillow (they receive what is needed for fulfilment, such as artwork, size, and shipping address);
- Hosting, email, analytics, and security providers that support the website;
- Professional advisers or authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property;
- A buyer or successor if we sell or reorganise the business (information may transfer as an asset).
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may use tools that help us understand site traffic or show relevant ads; where those tools involve “sharing” under some privacy laws, you can contact us to opt out.
6. International transfers
Your information may be processed in Australia and in other countries where our providers (including Print Partners and payment processors) operate. Where required, we take reasonable steps so transfers are protected in line with applicable law.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, for example, order records for tax and dispute resolution, and artwork for as long as needed to fulfil and support your order. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We may retain anonymised or aggregated data that no longer identifies you.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No online service is completely secure; please use a strong password if you create an account and take care with devices you use to shop.
9. Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- request deletion (subject to legal retention needs);
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- opt out of marketing emails (unsubscribe link or contact us);
- lodge a complaint with a privacy regulator (in Australia, the OAIC).
To exercise these rights, use our Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond within the time required by applicable law (typically within 30 days).
If you are in the EEA/UK, Canada, California, or another region with specific privacy laws, additional rights may apply (access, deletion, portability, opt-out of sale/sharing or targeted advertising). Contact us and we will handle your request under the law that applies to you.
10. Cookies
We may use cookies or similar technologies for essential site functions, security, preferences (such as currency), and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
11. Third-party links
Our site may link to other websites. Their privacy practices are their own; we encourage you to read their policies.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
13. Contact
Questions, privacy requests, or complaints: reach us via the Contact page. We prefer the chance to resolve concerns before you contact a regulator.
